Integrative Medicine:  The Power of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs

10:30-11:00 Presentation by Dr. Nell Ostermeier, DVM
11:00-11:30 Question & Answer session

Dr. Nell Ostermeier received her doctorate from the University Of Illinois College Of Veterinary Medicine. She began practicing veterinary medicine in California before moving to Portland in 2007 where she founded a veterinary practice. Dr. Nell has worked with a wide variety of animal species and continues to practice at Lombard Animal Hospital in Portland, Oregon where she leads the integrative medicine program. Dr. Nell lectures and teaches nationally and internationally on the various aspects of veterinary acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, including food therapy. Earlier this year, Dr. Nell became a fellow of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, an honor given to only 27 people. Her mission is to promote integrative medicine, the combination of Western medicine with complimentary alternative treatments, as a standard of care for pets at the global level.

LadyBug, Chubbs’ former foster sister is a patient of Lombard Animal Hospital in Portland, Oregon.  Dr. Nell began treating LadyBug when she was diagnosed with mast cell cancer.  Monthly acupuncture and Chinese herbs along with Western treatment together is a powerful combination.  Dr. Nell is a huge part of LadyBug’s team and we can’t imagine our journey without her.

We are so excited that Dr. Nell happens to be in town for the Western Veterinary Conference and has extended her stay in Las Vegas to speak at Vegas Pug Party and share her knowledge!
